Criteria For Membership

Membership Criteria

Overview

General, Corporate, or Family Memberships are for individuals or groups who support the Board’s mission. Members may participate in events and discussions, but do not have voting rights on board matters.


Qualifications

  • Complete a visit at the San Joaquin County Family Justice Center (SJC FJC).
  • Submit a Membership application.
  • Remit one of the required contributions at your chosen tier.

Tiers of Contribution

General Membership

  • Bronze – $50
  • Silver – $75
  • Gold – $100
  • Diamond – $250

Corporate Memberships

  • Platinum – $5,000
  • Gold – $2,500
  • Silver – $1,000

Family Membership

  • Platinum – $500
  • Gold – $400
  • Silver – $300

Commitment

  • General Membership requires a 2-year commitment.
  • Contributions are due annually, at your chosen tier.
  • Members are encouraged to join at least one committee.

Committees

Communication / On-Boarding

Purpose: Plan tours, host meet & greets, and represent the Foundation at FJC events.
Responsibilities: Identify potential donors, attend tours/events, coordinate onboarding.

Social Media

Purpose: Promote the Foundation’s mission online.
Responsibilities: Create and schedule posts, engage with followers, track engagement.

Website

Purpose: Maintain and improve the Foundation’s online presence.
Responsibilities: Update content, improve functionality, ensure accessibility.

Finance / Fundraising

Purpose: Organize events and campaigns.
Responsibilities: Manage fundraising, identify donors, oversee event success.

Grants

Purpose: Secure funding through grants.
Responsibilities: Research, write proposals, maintain grantor relationships.

Governance

Purpose: Ensure strong leadership and best practices.
Responsibilities: Review bylaws, enforce compliance, uphold ethics and transparency.

Camp HOPE

Purpose: Plan and manage Camp HOPE activities.
Responsibilities: Develop programs, recruit volunteers, manage logistics.


About Camp HOPE

Camp HOPE America is a trauma-informed program for children and teens impacted by domestic violence and trauma. Through outdoor activities, mentorship, and team-building, Camp HOPE builds resilience, confidence, and hope for ages 7–11.


Flexible Attendance

  • Board Meetings: Zoom access available (pre-approval required).
  • Committee Meetings: Flexible attendance options.
  • Events: Participation encouraged.

Membership Process

Requirements

  • Take a tour of the SJC Family Justice Center.
  • Participate in a Meet & Greet (if not already completed).

Meet & Greet Includes:

  • Interview on experience, skills, and values.
  • Review of membership criteria and commitment.
  • Option for General Membership if board candidacy is not possible.

Follow-Up

  • Candidate receives a thank-you email.
  • Membership application sent (due within 1 week).
  • Application reviewed by Executive Board.
  • Upon approval, a welcome letter is sent.

After 2-Year Commitment

If a vacancy arises, members may apply for the Board of Directors (must be 18+).
